Start with what you are really doing
Alipay is a Chinese payment platform with its own account system. When you want to fund an Alipay account from Ghana, you are arranging for RMB to be delivered into that account. You are not "topping up" a phone-style balance, and you are not logging into Alipay on your recipient's behalf.
Being clear about that up front avoids the most common misunderstanding, which is expecting the money to move directly from a Ghanaian wallet into Alipay. Those are separate systems, and there is no direct link between them.
What to collect from your recipient
Four things, and ask for them from your recipient directly rather than copying them from anywhere else. Their name as shown on the Alipay account. Their Alipay account identifier. Their Alipay QR code, where the transaction requires one. And the exact RMB amount they need to receive.
If the account details change at short notice through a message, verify them through a channel you already trust before paying. Last-minute account changes are a common pattern in payment fraud, and confirming costs you a couple of minutes.
How the payment runs
Create your account, start a transaction, and select Alipay as the recipient account type. Enter the recipient details and the RMB amount, then choose your funding method and submit. You will receive a transaction reference.
Pay the Ghana Cedis amount shown, using your transaction reference as the payment description. Once your payment is verified, the RMB is delivered to the Alipay account you specified. You can follow each stage in your dashboard.
A note on how services describe this
Ask any provider whether they are Alipay. The accurate answer for an independent payment service is no — it is not Alipay, it is not part of Alipay, and it is not an authorised agent of Alipay. What it does is deliver RMB to an Alipay recipient account as a step within an independent service.
That distinction is not pedantry. A service that describes itself as an official Alipay agent is claiming a relationship that would need to be factual to be honest, and you should ask for evidence if you are told so.
