RMB stands for Renminbi, the official currency of the People’s Republic of China. In everyday use people also call it the Chinese Yuan. Its international currency code is CNY.

CNY is the international currency code for the Chinese Yuan, which is the unit of the Renminbi (RMB). When you see CNY on a bank statement or a payment platform, it means the same currency people describe as RMB or Yuan.

In practical terms yes. RMB is the name of the currency and Yuan is the name of its unit, and most people use the two interchangeably. Both are represented by the code CNY. Strictly speaking, saying “100 RMB” and “100 Yuan” describes the same amount.

There is no difference in value. RMB is the broader currency name and CNY is the code used for it in international transactions. Some people reserve the term RMB for the onshore currency and CNH for offshore trading, but for a payment from Ghana the distinction does not change anything.

The minimum that applies to a transaction is shown in your dashboard when you start one. Any minimum that relates to the rate tiers is published on the RMB exchange rate page.

Collect the RMB amount due, your supplier’s name as it appears on their receiving account, the account type, the account details or QR code, and the invoice number. Then start a transaction, submit it, and settle your Ghana Cedis side using your transaction reference.

You submit the payment request and recipient details, ELITE RMB reviews the transaction, you complete your payment in Cedis, and ELITE RMB processes the RMB delivery to the account specified. Each stage is visible in your dashboard.

The RMB amount, the recipient name exactly as it appears on the receiving account, the account type (a Chinese bank account, Alipay or WeChat Pay), the account details or wallet identifier, a QR code where the account type uses one, and the invoice or order number.

Mobile Money can be used for the Ghana Cedis side of a transaction where it is offered. The available funding methods are shown when you create the transaction, so confirm there before you plan around a particular route.

MTN Mobile Money can serve as your funding method for the Ghana Cedis side. Note that MTN MoMo does not connect directly to Chinese payment platforms — you pay Cedis from your wallet, and ELITE RMB separately delivers the RMB.

Telecel Cash can be used for the Ghana Cedis side where it is offered for your transaction. As with all mobile wallets, there is no direct link between it and Chinese payment platforms.

Your wallet covers the Ghana Cedis half of the transaction. The RMB delivery to the recipient in China is a separate step performed by ELITE RMB, not a wallet-to-platform transfer.

Submit a transaction with ELITE RMB selecting Alipay as the recipient account, provide the recipient’s Alipay name, account identifier and QR code where used, then fund your Ghana Cedis side. The Alipay page explains what to collect.

Your MoMo balance can fund the Ghana Cedis side of the transaction. It does not connect directly to Alipay — the RMB delivery to the Alipay recipient is a separate step performed by ELITE RMB.

Where the seller or your agent expects RMB, yes. Taobao is built for buyers inside China, which is why a card issued outside China often fails at checkout. The Taobao page explains the workaround.

No. ELITE RMB is an independent RMB exchange and China payment service. It is not Alipay, WeChat Pay or any of the Chinese marketplaces, it does not claim a partnership with them, and it does not act as an authorised agent for them. It delivers RMB to recipient accounts on those platforms.

ELITE RMB applies two automatic tiers based on the RMB amount of the transaction. The applicable tier is selected automatically; you do not choose or negotiate it. Both tiers are published on the RMB exchange rate page.

Yes. Rates are set by ELITE RMB administration and can change. When you submit a transaction the rate is locked for the period stated there, and that locked figure is the one that applies to you.

No. It is the rate that applies to ELITE RMB transactions and reflects the cost of the service. It is not a mid-market, interbank, bank or parallel-market reference rate.

Once your Ghana Cedis payment has been verified, ELITE RMB processes the RMB delivery promptly, and you can follow each stage in your dashboard. If anything needs checking, contact the team with your transaction reference.
