Before you start
You need three things in place: an MTN Mobile Money wallet with enough balance, an ELITE RMB account with a transaction started, and your recipient's details. Starting the transaction first is not a formality — it is what produces the reference that makes your payment findable.
Step by step
Sign in and start a transaction, entering the RMB amount your recipient needs. Add the recipient: their name as it appears on the receiving account, the account type in China, and the account details or QR code. Choose Mobile Money as your funding method and submit.
You will then see the Ghana Cedis amount to pay and your transaction reference. Send that amount from your MTN wallet to the details shown in your dashboard, and put the reference in the payment description. Keep the MTN confirmation message.
The misunderstanding worth correcting
People occasionally describe buying RMB with MTN MoMo as sending MoMo to Alipay. It is not, and ELITE RMB does not describe it that way, because it would be misleading. MTN Mobile Money and Alipay are separate systems with no direct connection.
What actually happens is that you pay Ghana Cedis from your MTN wallet, and the RMB is delivered separately by ELITE RMB to the account you specified — which might be an Alipay account, might be a bank account, or might be WeChat Pay. The MTN wallet is only relevant to your half of the transaction.
If something goes wrong
The most common issue is a payment that has not yet been matched. Send ELITE RMB your transaction reference, the MTN number you paid from, the amount, and the time of payment. With those, the payment can be located without you having to reconstruct anything from memory later.
